IDENTITY THEFT VICTIMS SUPPORT GROUP OF NORTH AMERICA ANNOUNCES SPECIAL SEMINAR SERIES FOR VETERANS, ACTIVE DUTY AND RESERVE MILITARY PERSONNEL.
"VETERANS IDENTITY THEFT AWARENESS & PREVENTION MARCH ACROSS AMERICA" SEMINAR SERIES
SWORN TO PROTECT IN PEACE TIME
LUCKY DAY FOR VETERANS, ACTIVE DUTY AND RESERVE MILITARY PERSONNEL.
We have had great successes in using the Veterans Breach Letter, The Montgomery County Police Letter and the three Credit Bureau Freeze Letters in "Freezing Credit Bureau Files" all across America. Since September 2006 we have succeded in Texas, Washington State and twenty-two other states in freezing files "FREE". Now, since the three national credit bureaus have allowed all 50 states to freeze credit files, we are now applying the "VA Security Breach" documents to all fifty states. What does this mean?
ALL 26.5 MILLION VETERANS AND 2.2 MILLION ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY MEMBERS THAT WERE PART OF THE "VA SECURITY BREACH" IN WASHINGTON D.C. IN MAY, 2006 WILL BE ABLE TO FREEZE THEIR CREDIT BUREAU FILES FOR FREE.
The “Identity Theft Victims Support Group of North America” in cooperation with the “Montgomery County Police Department of Rockville, Maryland” (Ms. Peggy M. Lyles, Deputy Custodian of Records), is pleased to announce the release of the police report (See statement below) for the Veterans Administration Security Breach of May 3rd, 2006.
A partial statement is as follows: “Our police report number for this incident is ………… Please accept this case number as verification that the incident occurred and a police report was written. Because this is an open and ongoing investigation, the actual police report will not be released at this time” (Ms. Peggy M. Lyles).
Go to this link,VA Security Breach for all current information concerning the "Veterans Administration Security Breach in Washington D.C., on May 3rd, 2006.Information about seminar schedule will be forthcoming for our "National March Across America" Seminar Series.

WE NEED YOUR HELP. THIRTY-THREE STATES DO NOT HAVE "IDENTITY THEFT FREEZE LAWS" TO PROTECT OUR ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY AND VETERANS.
PLEASE, FOR YOUR SAKE AND THE SAKE OF OTHER VETERANS, PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS ENTIRE WEB PAGE AND LET YOUR SENATORS AND CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES KNOW THAT THEIR FAILURE TO PASS COMPREHENSIVE "IDENTITY THEFT LAWS" THAT PROTECTS ALL OF AMERICA'S CITIZENS, HAS PUT THE SAFETY AND FINANCIAL SECURITY OF THIS NATION AT RISK.
SEND A MESSAGE TO YOUR SENATORS AND CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES IN WASHINGTON AND BE PART OF THE SOLUTION, NOT PART OF THE PROBLEM.
YOU CAN SUPPORT CONSUMERS UNION AND OUR ORGANIZATION'S FIGHT BY URGING YOUR CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES TO APPROVE:
Bills like S. 499 (the "Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act") and H.R. 3492 (the "Consumer Credit Card Protection Act").
Please fight for these kinds of consumer protections for credit cards:
* Require that each bill give consumers special information about paying just the minimum payment, such as how long it would take to repay the balance and how much it would cost.
* Prevent late fees if the bill is postmarked on time.
* Ban retroactive interest rates - changes that apply a higher interest rate to prior charges.
* Ban finance charges or extra fees for on-time payment and for payment in full.
* Ban "universal default," which can raise the interest rate on all debts even when a consumer only makes one late payment on one debt.
* Improve disclosures related to artificially low "teaser" rates, and
* Prohibit over-limit fees if the card issuer has pre-approved the charge.
Our goal is to become the Number One Provider of Identity Theft Education in the United States. We will provide the latest updates for protecting consumers from, "IDENTITY THEFT, AMERICA'S NEW EPIDEMIC" and "IDENTITY THEFT, THE FINANCIAL RAPING OF AMERICA". We will also provide education and the latest updates for the small and mid-size business owners from, "IDENTITY THEFT, AMERICA'S BUSINESS DILEMMA". We will bring problem solving solutions for both consumers and businesses and how to combat the nations No. 1 White-Collar Crime wave.
Again, with your attendance and financial support of our "Identity Theft Awareness and Prevention Seminars" we will be able to offer our "Identity Theft Victims Support Group Workshops" free to all ID Theft Victims.
"Identity Theft is Truly Not Someone Else's Problem" any longer. Just ask 50 million plus victims.
Thank You!!!!!!
Last Year Nearly 5 Billion Credit Card Solicitations Offers Were Mailed, Response Rate Was .35%. What Happened to the Other 4.8 Billion?

"Identity Theft Is No Longer Someone Else's Problem"
DON'T LET CONGRESS TAKE AWAY OUR CURRENT ID THEFT PROTECTIONS!
Act now! This bill could be voted on by the full House of Representatives at any point. Send an email telling your Representative to vote against this bill and protect your personal identity.
I am urging every American to write to their Congressional Representatives in Washington D.C. and tell them you strongly oppose H.R. 3997, which recently passed out of the Financial Services Committee when it it brought to a vote.
I want strong financial privacy protections, and this bill does just the opposite: It wipes out strong state protections and replaces them with very weak federal rules. If Congress can't protect us from identity thieves, states should be allowed to do so.
Here are just a few examples of why you should vote against H.R. 3997:
1.) It takes away the best tool to prevent identity thieves from opening new accounts. H.R. 3997 eliminates state security freeze laws that let all consumers lock up their credit files before they become a victim. This bill would make me wait until after I have become a victim of ID theft to place a freeze too little, too late.
2.) It eliminates strong state laws that require companies to tell me when the security of my sensitive personal information has been breached. Instead, it allows companies that fail to protect my information decide whether I should know about it. I want to make sure that when my information is breached, I know about it so that I can work to protect myself.
It's not surprising me that two leading national consumer groups called this legislation the "worst bill ever" for financial privacy. Please don't vote to take away the few tools that I have today to protect myself from identity thieves. I urge you to reject H.R. 3997 when it is voted on by the House of Representatives.
IDENTITY THEFT CONGRESSIONAL UPDATE AS OF DECEMBER 8TH, 2005
Our organization would like to thank the following U.S. Senators for sponsoring or co-sponsoring Senate Bill S.1408 -"Identity Theft Protection Act of 2005":
Section 2 of this bill relates to "Protection of Sensitive Personal Information".
Section 3 of this bill relates to "Notification of Security Breach Risk" (i.e., Choice Point).
Section 4 of this bill relates to "Security Freeze" which means:
ALL U.S. CITIZENS WILL HAVE THE FREE CHOICE TO FREEZE THEIR CONSUMER CREDIT BUREAU FILES FROM PRYING EYES(small charge to freeze). "ID THEFT VICTIMS" CAN FREEZE THEIR CREDIT FILES FREE.
CONTACT YOUR SENATOR IN WASHINGTON TO SUPPORT THIS CRITICAL LEGISLATION.
PLEASE GET INVOLVED. YOUR SILENCE WILL LET YOUR SENATORS KNOW THAT YOU DON'T CARE WHAT THEY DO IN WASHINGTON. YOUR ACTION LETS WASHINGTON KNOW THAT IT IS STILL "WE THE PEOPLE" AND NOT THE SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS.
GO THIS LINK TO ACCESS YOUR SENATORS WEB SITE AND E-MAIL ADDRESSESS:
CURRENTLY, ONLY SEVENTEEN STATES HAVE THIS PROTECTION. SIX OTHER STATES: TEXAS, HAWAII, WASHINGTON STATE, SOUTH DAKOTA, ILLINOIS AND VERMONT OFFER THIS PROTECTION ONLY IF YOU ARE A "VICTIM OF IDENTITY THEFT".

Midwest: Chicago, Illinois
Northeast: Washington D.C.
Southeast: Atlanta, Georgia

Our national, southwest regional and state organization will be based in Plano, Texas. We are hopeful to eventually have offices in all fifty-states to combat the growing threat of "Identity Theft" (i.e., "Identity Theft Victims Support Group of Nevada, or "Identity Theft Victims Support Group-Northeast Region").
If you have a business organization (profit or non-profit) that would be interested in helping us to expand into all fifty-states, please contact us at:

According to a recent article published by HR magazine (Kathy Gurchiek, Associate Editor for HR News, Oct. 2005) entitled "ID Theft Services Emerge As a New Employee Benefit"; businesses are offering their employees a new benefit--"Identity Theft Services" to educate them about protecting their identity and help them restore their identity and credit after a theft.
Everyday we pull out our credit cards to buy groceries, gas, clothes and gifts for our friends and family. Depending on where you use them, the chances of becoming a "Victim of Identity Theft" is one in four.
Not only do you have to worry about someone stealing your credit cards, but you have to worry about the credit card issuers deceptive trade practices.
But, those credit cards can turn on us later; skyrocketing interest, late fees for bills mailed on time, low minimum payments that can bury us in interest.
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK "CONSUMER UNION" FOR ALLOWING OUR ORGANIZATION TO USE THESE SPECIAL BUTTONS THAT WILL LINK TO THEIR SITES ABOUT "ABUSIVE PRACTICES BY CREDIT CARD COMPANIES" AND ABOUT "SECURITY BREACH LEGISLATION" THAT IS NOW PENDING IN CONGRESS.
PLEASE JOIN THE FIGHT WITH CONSUMER UNION AND OUR ORGANIZATION TO HAVE CONGRESS IMPLEMENT NEW LAWS TO PROTECT ALL AMERICAN CONSUMERS FROM THESE ABUSIVE PRACTICES.
Please send this web site home page link to all of your friends, relatives, business associates, and E-Mail buddies.
If everyone that has visited this web site in the past four months, sends this link to just 20 people and if each one of those people send it to 20 people, we could reach.............10 million people with our message with just two clicks.
USE THE POWER OF YOUR MOUSE AND CLICK IT TWICE. SEND A MESSAGE TO CONGRESS AND BE PART OF THE SOLUTION, NOT PART OF THE PROBLEM.IF YOU NEED A REASON TO JOIN OUR FIGHT HERE IT IS!!!!!!!!
"Identity Theft" in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex during the first week in December 2005 was elevated from "Identity Theft, White Collar Crime" to "Identity Theft, Capital Murder".
After trying to serve a warrant on a suspect that was linked to a major "ID THEFT RING", Police Officer "Hank" Nava of the Forth Worth Police Department was shot and killed protecting its citizens (Source: NBC5i.com, Channel 5, Dallas, Tx.).
